The inspiration behind O's Gold

Maple Syrup in the Making

Starting with maple syrup as a hobby on our farm 15 years ago, our maple syrup, O's Gold, has grown into a sweet treat for our customers. Discover more about our journey and process below and see some fun videos on our Instagram page.

Tap the Trees

In early spring, we tap all of our maple trees when the days are warm, but the nights are still cold.

Wait for exact Temp

Now we wait until the sap reaches approximately 219°F, which is the ideal temperature for syrup. This can take days.

Collect the Sap

After the buckets have filled, we gather the sap and bring it to the sugar house.

Filter the Syrup

Use a cheesecloth to strain the syrup while it's still hot for optimal clarity. Filtering ensures a smooth texture and enhances the overall flavor of the syrup.

Boil the Sap

After the sap is gathered, we boil it for many hours. It takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. That's a lot of sap!

Bottle the Syrup

We filter, seal, and bottle the syrup while it is hot from boiling.
